As a Digitalization & Automation Engineer (m/w/d), you will be at the forefront of digital transformation within the engineering domain. This role involves designing, implementing, and troubleshooting automation systems to streamline the workflows and digital tools used in structural repair manual processes. Located in Hamburg Finkenwerder, you will analyze existing manual processes and create efficient automation solutions using Python and other programming languages to ensure timely delivery and high-quality engineering outputs. Your expertise will allow you to act as the liaison between engineering teams and IT departments, ensuring seamless integration and communication across databases and tools.
Your tasks:
- Develop scripts for ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipeline workflows to automate database processes.
- Create “glue code” enabling seamless data transfer across internal databases and software tools.
- Digitize legacy manual processes and convert spreadsheet calculations into automated scripts or web applications.
- Develop standardized templates and automated stress dossier generators to maintain consistency.
- Maintain and optimize digital libraries for current and historical data.
- Provide technical support, troubleshoot automation tools, and improve process reliability.
- Map strategic digitalization processes to identify and mitigate bottlenecks.
- Train team members in new digital tools and basic automation principles.
- Collaborate with other IT and software teams to ensure alignment with team requirements.
- A degree in Informatics, Engineering, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 3 years of experience in engineering and IT/information systems.
- Proficiency in Python and Java programming languages.
- Experience with Unix-based systems and familiarity with Google Workspace.
- Basic knowledge of project management methodologies.
- Negotiable fluency in English.
- Good interpersonal communication and teamwork abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and a high sense of responsibility.
