SCADA Communication Senior Expert (f/m/d) for HVDC (HGÜ) and FACTS (m/w/d)

A Snapshot of Your Day
As a SCADA CG Senior Expert, you will play a key role in advancing the Control and Protection Platform (CP PLT) Framework for HVDC and FACTS systems. Your focus will be on deepening your expertise in communication system concepts and their practical implementation within the C&P platform. You will actively support customer project execution teams to ensure successful delivery. Leveraging advanced software components, communication protocols, and diagnostic tools, you will identify and resolve system-related issues. Your contributions will drive practical solutions and enhance the efficiency of project execution workflows.
How You'll Make an Impact

• Joining the Operation Level Software Team within the Control & Protection (C&P) Platform development
• Designing, implementing, and promoting communication domain concepts using a data-driven approach
• Delivering technical solutions and expertise to support HVDC and FACTS project execution
• Providing support for functional and dynamic performance tests (FPT/DPT) as well as factory acceptance tests (FAT)
• Analyzing technical issues and collaborating with platform experts to develop effective solutions
• Supporting the Framework owner in maintaining and evolving platform components

What You Bring

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Strong proficiency in Linux and Windows operating systems via command-line interface, as well as extensive experience with SCADA systems, particularly with protocol converters (e.g., IPCOMM)
• Deep understanding of network communication fundamentals (IPv4: TCP/UDP), as well as In-depth knowledge of communication protocols such as IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-101/104, OPC UA, and optionally DNP3, including detailed layer-level expertise
• Extensive experience with SCADA systems, particularly with protocol converters (e.g., IPCOMM)
• Strong analytical mindset, proactive attitude, and problem-solving capabilities, as well as proven ability to work effectively in teams with excellent communication skills; fluency in English and German
• Familiarity with diagnostic and analysis tools such as Wireshark, WinPP, and ASE 2000 is a plus
